The Nigerian National Association of the Blind is a membership organization that advances the cause of welfare and empowerment for blind and partially sighted Nigerians. Founded in 1968, NNAB works to create equal opportunities, independence, and social inclusion.
Mission and Objectives
NNAB has been established to:
– Promote education, employment, and healthcare of the visually impaired
– Advocate for accessibility and inclusive infrastructure
– Support skills development and entrepreneurship
Programmes and Initiatives
NNAB implements a number of programs such as:
– Braille Production: The provision of accessible educational materials
– White Cane Distribution: Enhancing mobility and independence
– Assistive Technology: Creating a culture of digital accessibility
– Advocacy: Advocating policy reforms and legislation
