Microsoft Invests N1 Billion in Nigeria’s Digital Future, Trains One Million Nigerians in AI and Tech Skills

Lagos, Nigeria – In a landmark move to empower Nigeria’s digital economy, Microsoft has launched an ambitious initiative to train one million Nigerians in cutting-edge technology skills, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and Data Science.

This N1 billion investment in Nigeria’s digital future is part of Microsoft’s global commitment to bridging the digital divide and promoting digital inclusion. The initiative aims to equip Nigerians with the skills required to thrive in the digital economy, fostering economic growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

“Microsoft is committed to empowering Nigerian youths with the skills required to succeed in the digital economy,” said Microsoft Country Manager for Nigeria, Ola Williams. “This initiative is a testament to our dedication to bridging the digital divide and promoting digital inclusion in Nigeria.”

The training program will be delivered through Microsoft’s Africa Development Centre (ADC) in collaboration with local partners, including educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Participants will have access to Microsoft’s cutting-edge technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.

“This initiative is a game-changer for Nigeria’s digital economy,” said Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami. “We commend Microsoft for its commitment to empowering Nigerian youths with the skills required to thrive in the digital economy.”
